Los Angeles Chapter
RAISING HEALTH AWARENESS FOR YOUNG GIRLS
Feminine hygiene management is a neglected topic that has far-reaching implications for health, education, and gender. Girls from developing countries struggle to manage their monthly periods and are often constrained by a variety of practical, social, economic and cultural factors.
Many young girls face days with no access to safe solutions to best take care of themselves, sometimes out of lack of proper education and in many instances due to a lack of adequate resources. The implications of this gap could have far reach- ing health implications in the future.
ExSSA Los Angeles chapter is taking on the initiative to educate and provide sanitation supplies to 200 girls at Saker Baptist College in Cameroon. With your support of $25 dollars or more, you can help us meet our goal to have all Form one students get a sanitation and menstrual starter kit that will help guide them to exercise good hygiene and hopefully avoid or limit common ailments that could have serious long term implications if proper education and guidance is not provided.
